Health projects aim to increase access to basic healthcare for poor communities, decrease the prevalence of disease and improve overall health by providing public health care and promoting health education in poor communities. In Africa, one Doctor is entitle to 10.000 patience. As a Volunteer or Interns, you will assist the local nurses and Doctors at a District or Regional Hospitals with any aspects of medical practices that you are hoping for. You will act as a health worker with the community nurses and doctors. Your duties of choice may include working in the consultation room, medicine dispensary or operating theatre (operating room) helping with physical therapy, treatment of minor injuries, maternal assistance and childcare. Other occasional tasks may be assisting midwives on home-visits, verifying or recording patient's personal/medical information etc. Also you will join the team on outreach consultation trips in poor communities. We have being facing the problem of shortage of medical

African countries have so many townships where the people and communities are experiencing immense difficulties. From a survey in 2011, 49.2 percent of the adult population were living below the poverty line. Volunteers in some of the areas will help increase the quality of life by working on building projects with local populations .
Another option is volunteering your time and knowledge by mentoring small businesses owners or teaching skills that can provide sustainable change.

As said, there are many economic disparities in Africa, and the divide between rich and poor is immense. This has consequences for the development and education of youth, especially in the townships. In townships, there is a lack of teachers, but also a lack of materials. Volunteering in townships is an opportunity to fill the gaps through teaching and mentorship. Volunteers can find placements assisting teachers or by organizing after-school activities.

Africa has beautiful landscapes and reserves, with beautiful nature and wild animals. Volunteers can visit for several weeks to months to help preserve nature in any of your chosen destination.

Will I be working together with other volunteers? Where will I be staying? Will I be living close to my work or will I have to travel a lot?
Do not be afraid to ask your program coordinator as many things as you want. We hope to answer at least a few of these questions below:
